Location - Southampton
Hours - Monday to Thursday – 07:30 - 17:30
Friday – 07:30 - 13:30
Additional hours may be required dependant on client requirements
Job Type – Full Time / Permanent
Pay - £40-£50k per annum + benefits!

Red Chilli Recruitment are looking for an experienced Mechanical Draughts Person with pipe experience to work for our well established client in Southampton. The company offer complete project services to a variety of industries including Petro-Chemical, Oil & Gas, Power, Water and Pharmaceutical.
The main purpose of the role is to produce piping isometrics and detailed steelwork drawings for the engineering/ production department. Varied and exciting role with 60% of your time based on site and 40% based in the office. Project times can be long or short term with some completed within a day and others lasting 14-15 months.
Roles / Responsibilities -
- Carry out site surveys, gathering detailed survey information and producing survey reports.
- Carry out GA modelling & design activities of piping systems & supports.
- Produce piping isometrics & detailed steelwork drawings suitable for fabrication including piece mill part drawings, parallel line developments and templates.
- Adhere to P&IDs when designing pipework drawings.
- Draught & check detailed design drawings of piping systems & supports in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specifications.
- Prepare & check bill of materials.
- Provide support and input into the preparation of construction work packs. (create weld maps and understand level of NDE requirements)
- Conversant with ASME & BS EN standards.
Skills / Experience (Essential)
- Must be computer literate
- Proficient user of AutoCAD Plant 3D
- Able to produce piping isometrics & steelwork drawings to issue to the workshop for fabrication.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industry.
- Must hold a full UK driving licence.
Skills / Experience (Desired) -
- Pressure vessel codes ASME VIII & PD5500.
- ASME U & R stamp.
- Pipe work codes ASME B31.3 / ASME B31.1
- P.E.D requirements including CE and UKCA Marking.
- Welding standards to ASME IX & BS 15614
- Knowledge of piping design and calculations is an asset plus a good ability to work with a 3D model and various tools is advantageous.
